Description

Sheridan's Ride is a simulation of the battle of Cedar Creek, fought on October 19, 1864, between the Union Army of the Shenandoah under Philip Sheridan, and a Confederate Army under Jubal Early. The map represents the terrain around Middleton, Va., where the battle was fought, and the counters represent the infantry, cavalry, and artillery units which were engaged. Each hex on the map represents roughly 400 yards of actual terrain, each turn represents one hour of the battle, and each strength point represents 75 to 150 soldiers."

Dismal looking map, about the same color as my 48 Panzer Korps! Counters are a bit bland too. Game system leaves a lot to be desired. It does seem to be a difficult situation to design a game on, though.

From Ebay, 01/10/08. Mint, a few counters have fallen off the sheet. Countersheet checklist uploaded to BGG.

Quite a reasonable little quick playing game...the Rebs stand little chance of victory however as the Yanks gain a boost in the end game.

Nice small Hex and Chit. Good game playable. Torture in the good kind of way.

Old, basic, dated game. I'll probably never play it again, but my father and I played the heck out of it back in the day.

Runner up for the 1981 Charles S. Roberts Awards. Brigade level action and starting positions printed on the map make this game easy to play.

Not a bad little game for the time. But marred by inferior graphics and counters.
