Description

A simple Rummy game that tests players' vocabulary and their ability to form anagrams.

Each player is dealt seven 'letter' cards. On their turn they have three options:

1. Form and meld one word of three or more letters
2. Change one word previously placed by adding letters from your hand (this allows you to 'steal' an opponent's word)
3. Draw one card from the draw deck and discard one card

When the draw deck runs out and players are unable to form or change words, the round ends and points are scored. Points are awarded for words based on their length, bonus points are awarded for words of six or more letters.

A number of rounds are played to reach a set goal... usually 25 or 50 points.

Every time I play this I lose terribly. I'm frustrated that I don't get compensated for the simple words I create but then were stolen by my opponents to make longer words.

Actually a great card-word game, probably the favorite of the ones that I've played. Encourages creating sets of words of varying lengths while also playing words with letters that can't easily be rearranged and stolen.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Never again. Letter distribution, luck of the draw, and turn order can play a huge role in this game. Mix in a fair bit of down time as one tries to steal away opponents' words...blech! At least allow a player to discard their whole hand to the bottom of the pile and draw a new one as an action instead of just drawing a card.
