Pikachu, fuck yea.

feels abit odd that the playing pieces are all different stages of the evolution of the starting pokémon, and theyve thrown in wigglytuff... also they're plastic? very fun, nice blast from the past

Bizarre variant rules for doubles have the possibility of making the game longer, although it was all over in about two hours anyhow.

Oddly enough this is the only version of monopoly that I fell in love with.

what can i say? it's everyones favorite classic about taking money from your opponents mixed with monopoly. it's literally monopoly. except you buy veridian city or something. the whole city. theres also pokebucks which is cool. the board is pretty colorful. i don't remember much since i got it when i was like 10 years old for christ sake.

Marginally better than the regular game - only because the additional rules are pretty neat (doubles give special abilities) and the stacking houses look cool. Sadly at it's heart - still Monopoly

I don't mind playing Monopoly with the kids. The special powers options on rolling doubles makes things a little more interesting.

Only slightly better than the original because of its theming, otherwise still the same boring game!

Pokemon Monopoly. The name says it all. [Not really a big fan of Monopoly]

basic monopoly with nice little pokemons.

By
Haha, pokémon. Its kitschy by now. But it was the cheapest monopoly board i have ever seen ($4)

I don't like Monopoly and I got tired of Pokemon years ago.

By
Gave this to my cousin. Had some kind of cool additional rules to the long-time classic.

Slightly more exciting than regular Monopoly, but still Monopoly

The theme and special powers when you roll a double make this more interesting than straight Monopoly but only barely. Kids eventually destroyed this. What a terrible shame...

I actually own two different Pokemon Monopoly games. I didn't see a the second edition one on the Pokemon list. The second one is based on Pokemon Gold and Silver.

The best Monopoly ever made. Does not get a perfect score because of the blatant error on the board- Koga's gym shows the Marsh badge instead of the Soul badge.

The added rules to rolling doubles improved the mechanics to this version of Monopoly

By
Monopoly. With pokemon. More fun to collect pokemon than streets, so better than monopoly, I'd say.

The special actions you can take when rolling doubles are the only substantive difference between this version and vanilla Monopoly, and while they introduce more head-to-head interactions, and allow you to break up stalemates easier, they also break the balance of the game, if you even care about the "balance" of Monopoly.

This actually isn't a bad little game, for being Monopoly. Of course, I am severely biased in that it's one of the few games my seven-year old will actually sit down, play, and want to complete. On the other hand, that makes for some long and monotonous evenings. Not bad, though, not bad.

Fairly standard Monopoly with a Pokemon theme. Played a few times with my kids when they really dug Pokemon. No desire to play again.

The pokemon power doubles moves does add an odd little twist to the standard rules, but also more or less eliminates the 'three doubles and go to jail' thing. But, the game can be played as normal monopoly if desired.

It's monopoly. I do appreciate the added wrinkle of doubles giving special "pokemon powers" to the roller.

By
I bought for the great translucent bits to upgrade other games. Might be worth looking out for at garages sales just for the nice pieces. Seem to remember from the rules there are some flavor rules to account for pokemon powers and fights as well, but don't remember what those were . Probably a great edition for pokefans who are also mono lovers.

This makes monopoly worse cause the theme is kinda lame...take it or leave it

Slightly better than the original monopoly due to the unique powers each pokemon has. What I like: The unique powers each pokemon gets. Using these powers adds more flavour to the game, although you're stuck with one power throughout the game since it comes with the pokemon counter you choose.

2-21-10 Marking as Previously Owned as this copy is at my parents' house. I'd prefer this over normal Monopoly any day. If only because of the doubles system - while sometimes overpowered or unbalanced, at least it gives you some options and a minor tinge of strategy. Do I want the $200 that Clefairy will give me or should I take an extra roll? Whose property should I try and take with a good roll? It adds some choices and some diversity, although still not a whole lot of strategy. It's fun though, and Mew's teleport helps keep the game moving, picking up the stagnant properties that nobody is hitting with a normal roll. Granted, it's still Monopoly, but it's a fun playthrough for a casual game, or especially with non-gamers.

my kids love playing with the little Pokemon characters, I like the "variable player powers" for each of the characters though each are one use only. More enjoyable for me than regular Monopoly.

I'm a monopoly lover, and like the thematic extra rules for this version.

I enjoyed this Monopoly variant more than the others because of the optional doubles rules. Each set of doubles has its own 'special rule' that adds a fun element, like teleporting anywhere, fighting for a property/gym, etc...

A good alternate take on the Monopoly game and quite true to Pokemon as well. I liked this adaptation and would recommend it to families where Pokemon is quite popular.

The figures are cute. The game is tweaked slightly to allow for a duel, but the game is still just Monopoly.

Who doesn't have a copy of Monopoly in some form or another. This one I got as a gift. Fun if you're in the right mood but it takes FOREVER! Seems to be one of those games that everyone likes but nobody wants to play.

There was a time when I really enjoyed monopoly, but in this modern day and age, it just doesn't offer enough of what I look for in a good game.

I like this game as i like trading games and Monopoly is the only trading game every one knows how to play. In this version the board is a tad garish and the theme is offputting for some (I prefer the original) but it has additional rules based on doubles rolls and I think this is a useful enhancement, especially battling for properties to make sets.

Refer to my Monopoly comment. For some reason, the same family I played with had a Pokemon version as well as the classic... Maybe +0.1 point for being pokemon themed!
